The work Mill Along A Canal by Nico van Rijn was sold in the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2004. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,346.00 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nico van Rijn; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A still life with chrysanthemums - sold at auction in November 2005 with the realized price of EUR 3,360.00.

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.346,00 und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Nico van Rijn; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit A still life with chrysanthemums - im November 2005 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 3.360,00.
