Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Greek Girl Washing By A River by Nikolaus Gysis. The price achieved of GBP 181,250.00 (€ 198,354.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nikolaus Gysis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Greek Grandfather And Grandson in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 580,500.00 (€ 812,850.18).
