This work of art by Niccolò Codazzi could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the OLD MASTER PICTURES auction, the work A classical capriccio with a hunting party and shepherds with their flock changed hands for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,299.72) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Niccolò Codazzi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Capriccio Of The Inside Of A Temple With Ruins Beyond; A Lacustrine Landscape With Classical Ruins in October 2009 with an auction result of GBP 58,850.00 (€ 65,726.14).
