This artwork by Niccolò Codazzi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in April 2021. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work A capriccio of classical ruins with elegant figures promenading sold for GBP 16,500.00 (€ 18,979.80) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Niccolò Codazzi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Capriccio Of The Inside Of A Temple With Ruins Beyond; A Lacustrine Landscape With Classical Ruins, which sold at auction in October 2009 for GBP 58,850.00 (€ 65,726.14).
