The work Market Village by Nguyen Tan Bau was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. The price achieved of HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,445.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 60,000.00 – 90,000.00. Other works by Nguyen Tan Bau have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2008 the work Market Village was auctioned for HKD 118,750.00 (€ 12,079.13).
