In April 2013 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Market Village by Nguyen Tan Bau. The result of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 9,788.88) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Other works by Nguyen Tan Bau have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2008 the work Market Village was auctioned for HKD 118,750.00 (€ 12,079.13).

Im April 2013 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Market Village von Nguyen Tan Bau zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 9.788,88) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Nguyen Tan Bau konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2008 die Arbeit Market Village für HKD 118.750,00 (€ 12.079,13) versteigert.
