Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two Ladies by Nguyễn Gia Trí was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 31,875.00 (€ 3,878.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nguyễn Gia Trí achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Provincial Village in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 5,140,000.00 (€ 565,717.72).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two Ladies von Nguyễn Gia Trí im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 31.875,00 (€ 3.878,95) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nguyễn Gia Trí erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Provincial Village im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.140.000,00 (€ 565.717,72).
