This artwork by Nguyễn Gia Trí achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Hong Kong in April 2021. In the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art auction, the work Fish becoming Dragon sold for HKD 114,750.00 (€ 12,285.79) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nguyễn Gia Trí achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Provincial Village in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 5,140,000.00 (€ 565,717.72).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nguyễn Gia Trí erzielte im April 2021 bei Bonhams in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Fish becoming Dragon für HKD 114.750,00 (€ 12.285,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nguyễn Gia Trí erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Provincial Village im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.140.000,00 (€ 565.717,72).
