Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Senza titolo by Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri was auctioned at Christies in Milan in December last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,260.00. Admittedly, works by Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Swamps Around Nyrippi in July 2009 with an auction result of AUD 15,600.00 (€ 8,832.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Senza titolo von Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Mailand versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.260,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Swamps Around Nyrippi im Juli 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 15.600,00 (€ 8.832,13).
