Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work The Old And New Dress Of The Malaysian Lady by Ng Eng Teng for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,268.59). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Ng Eng Teng have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2020 by the work without title at HKD 56,875.00 (€ 6,299.37).
