Private collection, AsiaTowards the end of the 1980’s, Ng Chung enrolled in the printmaking department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. In 1995, he moved to Hong Kong and laid down roots in Lan Kwai Fong, which marked the beginning of a twenty-year period of foreign life and painting exploration. The influence of the bars, nightclubs, and bohemian lifestyle of Lan Kwai Fang inspired Ng Chung to start creating bar-themed paintings in 1996. Following the turn of the century, he began focusing on liquor bottles as his brand of artistic expression. The unique context of the surrounding Hong Kong area paired with his solid and applicable realistic techniques not only distin

In October 2017 China Guardian in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art, which included the work Bottle 147(Painted In 2016) by Ng Chung. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 731,600.00 (€ 80,521.22), 33% above the upper estimate. Other works by Ng Chung have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of HKD 1,035,000.00 (€ 96,261.72) in April 2014 for the work Bottle NO.707(Painted in 2007).

Im Oktober 2017 führte China Guardian in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bottle 147(Painted In 2016) von Ng Chung zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 731.600,00 (€ 80.521,22) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Ng Chung haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.035.000,00 (€ 96.261,72) im April 2014 für die Arbeit Bottle NO.707(Painted in 2007) beobachtet.
