Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Johannesburg, diptych, 2015 by Nelson Makamo was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art Online auction at Bonhams in London in December 2021. The price achieved of GBP 2,550.00 (€ 3,041.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nelson Makamo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Child in March 2020 with an auction result of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,115.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Johannesburg, diptych, 2015 von Nelson Makamo wurde im Dezember 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.550,00 (€ 3.041,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nelson Makamo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Child im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.115,06).
