A top price for Neil Shawcross - as previously expected
The work Red Figure by Neil Shawcross was sold in the Post War and Contemporary Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,239.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Red Figure is the most expensive artwork by Neil Shawcross that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Red Figure von Neil Shawcross wurde im Oktober 2006 in der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 15.239,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Red Figure das teuerste Kunstwerk von Neil Shawcross, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
