Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Muhamed Ali, 1965 by Neil Leifer for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,742.70). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Neil Leifer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Muhammad Ali reacts after his first round knockout of Sonny Liston during the 1965 World Heavyweight Title fight at St. Dominic’s Arena, Lewiston, Maine, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,964.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Muhamed Ali, 1965 von Neil Leifer für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.742,70) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Neil Leifer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Muhammad Ali reacts after his first round knockout of Sonny Liston during the 1965 World Heavyweight Title fight at St. Dominic’s Arena, Lewiston, Maine beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.964,24) versteigert wurde.
