Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mayflower round lightship; Saracen at the finish; the Mayflower winning by Nathaniel Livermore Stebbins was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,434.00 (€ 1,164.91). Other works by Nathaniel Livermore Stebbins have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2002 by the work A Whittmore yacht at USD 2,031.50 (€ 2,073.81).

Als die Arbeit Mayflower round lightship; Saracen at the finish; the Mayflower winning von Nathaniel Livermore Stebbins im Juli 2003 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Andere Arbeiten von Nathaniel Livermore Stebbins wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2002 die Arbeit A Whittmore yacht mit USD 2.031,50 (€ 2.073,81).
