Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work A portrait of a full-rigged ship; A portrait of the tugboat Nottingham by Nathaniel Livermore Stebbins for USD 956.00 (€ 768.43). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nathaniel Livermore Stebbins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Whittmore yacht, which sold at auction in July 2002 for USD 2,031.50 (€ 2,073.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A portrait of a full-rigged ship; A portrait of the tugboat Nottingham von Nathaniel Livermore Stebbins für USD 956,00 (€ 768,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nathaniel Livermore Stebbins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Whittmore yacht beobachtet, die im Juli 2002 für USD 2.031,50 (€ 2.073,81) versteigert wurde.
