This artwork by Nalini Malani achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2008. In the Indian Art auction, the work Tree Of Love sold for GBP 36,500.00 (€ 46,429.60) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nalini Malani; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Manipulating Reality sold at auction in September 2010 with the realized price of USD 122,500.00 (€ 90,066.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nalini Malani erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Indian Art wurde die Arbeit Tree Of Love für GBP 36.500,00 (€ 46.429,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Nalini Malani; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Manipulating Reality im September 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 122.500,00 (€ 90.066,91).
