It achieved a price of GBP 40,320.00 (€ 44,459.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nalini Malani - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Manipulating Reality, which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 122,500.00 (€ 90,066.91).

Die Arbeit Hieroglyphs I (From Stories Retold Series) von Nalini Malani wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 44.459,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Für andere Arbeiten von Nalini Malani mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Manipulating Reality beobachtet, die im September 2010 für USD 122.500,00 (€ 90.066,91) versteigert wurde.
