In September 2017 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Recollections IV by Nalini Malani. The »bidding war« ended at USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,035.47), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nalini Malani - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Manipulating Reality, which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 122,500.00 (€ 90,066.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im September 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Recollections IV von Nalini Malani zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.035,47) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Nalini Malani mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Manipulating Reality beobachtet, die im September 2010 für USD 122.500,00 (€ 90.066,91) versteigert wurde.
