Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Family of Street Performers by Nalini Malani. The price achieved of USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,012.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nalini Malani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Manipulating Reality in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 122,500.00 (€ 90,066.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Family of Street Performers von Nalini Malani zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 8.012,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nalini Malani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Manipulating Reality im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 122.500,00 (€ 90.066,91).
