Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bhupen'S Friends by Nalini Malani was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Indian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,326.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nalini Malani achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Manipulating Reality in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 122,500.00 (€ 90,066.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bhupen'S Friends von Nalini Malani wurde im September 2008 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Indian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.326,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nalini Malani erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Manipulating Reality im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 122.500,00 (€ 90.066,91).
