In May last year Bonhams in Sidney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Untitled, 2004 by Naata Nungurrayi. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 10,455.00 (€ 9,742.80), 74% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Naata Nungurrayi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Designs associated with the rockhole and soakage water site of Ngaminya), 2006 sold at auction in November this year with the realized price of AUD 27,060.00 (€ 16,407.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 74 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Sidney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 2004 von Naata Nungurrayi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 10.455,00 (€ 9.742,80) und damit 74% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Naata Nungurrayi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Untitled (Designs associated with the rockhole and soakage water site of Ngaminya), 2006 im November diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von AUD 27.060,00 (€ 16.407,67).
