Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marrapinti by Naata Nungurrayi was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. The price achieved of AUD 12,000.00 (€ 6,793.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Naata Nungurrayi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Designs associated with the rockhole and soakage water site of Ngaminya), 2006, which sold at auction in November this year for AUD 27,060.00 (€ 16,407.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Marrapinti von Naata Nungurrayi kam im Juli 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 12.000,00 (€ 6.793,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Naata Nungurrayi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Designs associated with the rockhole and soakage water site of Ngaminya), 2006 beobachtet, die im November diesen Jahres für AUD 27.060,00 (€ 16.407,67) versteigert wurde.
