The work Roseate by Morris Louis was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction at Christies in New York in May 2018. The »bidding war« ended at USD 882,500.00 (€ 756,212.51), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Morris Louis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Floral V in November last year with an auction result of USD 5,580,000.00 (€ 5,405,405.41).

Die Arbeit Roseate von Morris Louis wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 882.500,00 (€ 756.212,51) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Morris Louis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Floral V im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.580.000,00 (€ 5.405.405,41).
