In September 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Siesta by Morgan Russell. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,500.00 (€ 20,447.62), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Morgan Russell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Synchromist Nude in November 2001 with an auction result of USD 204,000.00 (€ 227,729.40).

Im September 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Siesta von Morgan Russell zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.500,00 (€ 20.447,62) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Morgan Russell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Synchromist Nude im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 204.000,00 (€ 227.729,40).
