The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,423.43), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mordechai Levanon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Hurba Synagogue, Safed, which sold at auction in April 2002 for USD 21,150.00 (€ 23,494.78).

Die Arbeit Safed von Mordechai Levanon wurde im April 2008 in der Auktion 19th & 20th Century Art at the Hilton Hotel bei Christies in Tel Aviv versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.423,43) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Mordechai Levanon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Hurba Synagogue, Safed beobachtet, die im April 2002 für USD 21.150,00 (€ 23.494,78) versteigert wurde.
