Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Landscape With Young Girl by Mordechai Levanon was auctioned at Christies in Tel Aviv in April 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,014.65). Admittedly, works by Mordechai Levanon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Hurba Synagogue, Safed in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 21,150.00 (€ 23,494.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Landscape With Young Girl von Mordechai Levanon im April 2008 bei Christies in Tel Aviv versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.014,65) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mordechai Levanon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Hurba Synagogue, Safed im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.150,00 (€ 23.494,78).
