Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2012 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art Part II, which included the work East + West by Mohammed Omar Khalil. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 22,500.00 (€ 17,008.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mohammed Omar Khalil - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work East + West, New York, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 63,400.00 (€ 43,820.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2012 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Arab, Iranian and Turkish Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit East + West von Mohammed Omar Khalil zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 17.008,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Mohammed Omar Khalil mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit East + West, New York beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 63.400,00 (€ 43.820,85) versteigert wurde.
