This artwork by Mohamed Melehi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in November this year. In the Moroccan & African Spirit auction, the work Constitution in puzzle B, 2013 sold for MAD 1,968,000.00 (€ 180,237.62) - well above the upper estimate of MAD 1,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mohamed Melehi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Blacks, which sold at auction in March 2020 for GBP 399,000.00 (€ 450,552.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 97 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mohamed Melehi erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Artcurial einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Moroccan & African Spirit wurde die Arbeit Constitution in puzzle B, 2013 für MAD 1.968.000,00 (€ 180.237,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von MAD 1.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mohamed Melehi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Blacks beobachtet, die im März 2020 für GBP 399.000,00 (€ 450.552,72) versteigert wurde.
