Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Moat Thone could be acquired at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work Buddha & Bodhi Tree 2 changed hands for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,956.85) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Moat Thone have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2019 by the work Buddha And Bodhi Tree 1 at HKD 40,000.00 (€ 4,553.16).
