Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary African Art, which included the work Riot Police Act by Misheck Masamvu. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,312.50 (€ 7,009.49). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Misheck Masamvu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Natural Selection, 2017, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 24,390.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Riot Police Act von Misheck Masamvu zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.312,50 (€ 7.009,49) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Misheck Masamvu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Natural Selection, 2017 beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 24.390,00 versteigert wurde.
