Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Various Non-Entities 'Hatred in the Sky', 1997 (measurements are for individual sheets, eight sheets) by Mike Parr was sold in the The Sherman Collection | Prints & Multiples auction at Bonhams in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 6,150.00 (€ 3,792.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mike Parr - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Enquiry (Menbrane of the 20th Century), 1987, which sold at auction in November last year for AUD 14,760.00 (€ 9,604.08).
