This artwork by Mike Bidlo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November last year. In the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work After Picasso ‘Woman Seated in a Garden’ sold for HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 312,711.42) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 950,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mike Bidlo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Not Picasso (Bather with Beachball, 1932), which sold at auction in May last year for USD 1,260,000.00 (€ 1,174,168.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mike Bidlo erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit After Picasso ‘Woman Seated in a Garden’ für HKD 2.520.000,00 (€ 312.711,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 950.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mike Bidlo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Not Picasso (Bather with Beachball, 1932) beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 1.260.000,00 (€ 1.174.168,30) versteigert wurde.
