This artwork by Miguel Ybáñez achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2002. In the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES auction, the work Preliminares de luna Preliminares de causa sold for EUR 2,629.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Miguel Ybáñez; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in September 2007 with the realized price of EUR 4,375.00.
