Despite a disappointment, a good price for Miguel Ángel Ríos
When the work Sudamérica by Miguel Ángel Ríos was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 14,100.00 (€ 16,676.52). Despite this disappointing result, Sudamérica is the most expensive artwork by Miguel Ángel Ríos that we have observed at auction so far.

Als die Arbeit Sudamérica von Miguel Ángel Ríos im Mai 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus.
