Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Male Barrow'S Goldeneye Duck; And A Female Barrow'S Goldeneye Duck by Michele Vitaloni was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 240.00 (€ 343.88). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michele Vitaloni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Garganey in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,040.76).
