In the Old Masters & British Paintings auction, the work Christ as the Man of Sorrows, flanked by the Madonna and Saint John the Evangelist changed hands for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,787.23) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Michele di Matteo da Bologna have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Female Saint in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 44,100.00 (€ 37,863.83).
