Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hanging songbirds; two further similar by Michelangelo Meucci was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,577.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michelangelo Meucci - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries, which sold at auction in March 2003 for USD 5,975.00 (€ 5,481.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Hanging songbirds; two further similar von Michelangelo Meucci kam im August 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.577,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Michelangelo Meucci mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hanging Fowl with Pomegranate; Hanging Fowl with Cherries beobachtet, die im März 2003 für USD 5.975,00 (€ 5.481,65) versteigert wurde.
