The work Winter Sunset by Michel Guermacheff was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2008. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,250.00 (€ 10,318.77), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michel Guermacheff; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Winter Lake Landscape sold at auction in June 2006 with the realized price of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,022.85).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 10.318,77) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Michel Guermacheff; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Winter Lake Landscape im Juni 2006 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.022,85).
