This artwork by Michel Dureuil achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2015. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work La plage sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 4,493.30) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michel Dureuil; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Le port d'Antibes sold at auction in March 2015 with the realized price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,912.76).
