In January 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Saint Francis Receiving The Stigmata by Michel II Corneille. The result of USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,558.64) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michel II Corneille achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Présentation Au Temple in March 2012 with an auction result of EUR 75,787.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Francis Receiving The Stigmata von Michel II Corneille zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.558,64) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michel II Corneille erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Présentation Au Temple im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 75.787,00.
