Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Samson Et Le Lion by Michel II Corneille was sold in the Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle auction at Christies in Paris in April 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michel II Corneille achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Présentation Au Temple in March 2012 with an auction result of EUR 75,787.00.

Die Arbeit Samson Et Le Lion von Michel II Corneille wurde im April 2016 in der Auktion Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 3.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michel II Corneille erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Présentation Au Temple im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 75.787,00.
