Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Square Meals (From New York Series) by Michael Wesely was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,102.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Wesely - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work „Point Lobos“., which sold at auction in October 2018 for EUR 25,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Square Meals (From New York Series) von Michael Wesely kam im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.102,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Wesely mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit „Point Lobos“. beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für EUR 25.000,00 versteigert wurde.
