Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Male Form, which included the work Leopard Lover by Michael Singletary. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,530.00 (€ 1,461.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michael Singletary have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Coloured People in May 2020 with an auction result of USD 8,825.00 (€ 7,951.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Male Form durch, in der auch die Arbeit Leopard Lover von Michael Singletary zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.530,00 (€ 1.461,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Singletary auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Coloured People im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.825,00 (€ 7.951,88).
