Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Christies in London held the auction British Printmaking, which included the work Seven Colours, Rampant Lions Press, MCMLXXIV (S. 409-416) by Michael Rothenstein. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 614.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Rothenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White House in May last year with an auction result of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 17,787.24).
