In the 20th c. & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work (Forever Free) Icarus sold for USD 67,500.00 (€ 57,329.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michael Ray Charles; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Forever Free, One And Another sold at auction in May 2019 with the realized price of USD 100,000.00 (€ 89,694.14).
