Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Duke’S Mermaid (From Sculptural Forms) by Michael Dweck was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,607.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Dweck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sonya, Poles (Montauk), which sold at auction in October 2018 for USD 168,750.00 (€ 148,914.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Duke’S Mermaid (From Sculptural Forms) von Michael Dweck kam im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.607,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Dweck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sonya, Poles (Montauk) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für USD 168.750,00 (€ 148.914,58) versteigert wurde.
