This artwork by Michael Cummings achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2018. In the The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer auction, the work ‘I’M Almost Certain She Gave Us A Smile…’ sold for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,850.15) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michael Cummings; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot From Clement Attlee To John Major, Ten Prime Ministers sold at auction in March 2018 with the realized price of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,846.39).
