This artwork by Michael Clark achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2014. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Portrait Of Muriel Belcher; The Sphinx sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,540.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Clark achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Francis Bacon in February 2006 with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 74,127.09).

In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of Muriel Belcher; The Sphinx für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.540,16) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Clark erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Francis Bacon im Februar 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 74.127,09).
