Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Scribble, Scribble by Michael Challis Brown for AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,821.38). This price was achieved in the auction THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION at Christies in Sydney and was even below the estimate range of AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Michael Challis Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Little Sheep in March 2006 with an auction result of AUD 23,900.00 (€ 14,106.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2006 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Scribble, Scribble von Michael Challis Brown für AUD 4.780,00 (€ 2.821,38) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion THE W.R. BURGE COLLECTION bei Christies in Sydney erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Challis Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Little Sheep im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 23.900,00 (€ 14.106,89).
